Ok, so I know it's been way, way too long since I've last posted. Why do all my posts start out like this? Well, I'm not going to make any promises about when I'll post again, but hopefully it won't be 7 weeks like this time. A whole lot has happened since I last posted. Let's see, where do I start?
I will start with most recent events (since I have baby brain and really can't remember that far back). On May 20, I had my 32 week appt. It was just a routine check your blood pressure, weigh you, blah, blah, blah, kind of appt. Well, when the nurse checked my blood pressure it was 160/120. For those who don't know (I never knew), normal blood pressure is 12o/80. So, my blood pressure was way too high. I had been feeling a little dizzy that day and the day before and also had been getting headaches. After the doctor came in, he checked my blood pressure again. It had gone down some, but not enough. He immediately sent me over to the labor and delivery unit where I could be monitored. He talked to me about pregnancy-induced hypertension (PIH). It's also called pre-eclampsia or toxemia. (Why one this has to have so many names, I don't know). I had to stay in the hospital until Thursday night while they did some tests to check whether or not I had PIH. Also, while I was there, the nurse came in and told me I was having contractions. They weren't real contractions, but apparently caused enough concern for lots of pills and an IV. So, after staying there for a while I went home on bedrest. I had another dr appt last Tuesday and he said that my bloodwork was fine and the protein levels in my urine were just a little above normal. So, I'm not sure whether I have PIH or not, but since my blood pressure was still high when I went in, he just decided to leave me on bedrest until I have this sweet baby. Let me tell you, I thought bedrest would be fun. But after a week of this business, I just want to get out of this house. I also had an ultrasound when I was at my appt. My mom was super happy because she took me to my appt and had not been with me for an ultrasound before. Well, the ultrasound tech looked around at the baby just to make sure everything was ok. She said that Carleigh is measuring 4 pounds 6 ounces. She asked me where I had been feeling her kick and I told her wayyyyy down low. She said that's because right now Carleigh is breech (feet first). She said she still has time to turn but she needs to hurry up and do it! I am really hoping she does or if she doesn't that the doctor can somehow get her to turn. If not, it's c-section for me! I really hope it doesn't come to that! That's about it in baby news right now. I will be going to the doctor every week now, so I should have more news on Tuesday.
Here is a picture of my feet a few days before I was admitted into the hospital. They are not swollen at all now!

I had my very first baby shower on May 16th. It had such an awesome time and am very grateful for my wonderful friends who threw the shower for me. I got a lot of wonderful gifts and it was so much fun visiting with friends and family. Here are a few pictures from the shower. And no, there are not any pictures of me opening presents because the people sitting across from me (Holly, Alan, Leslie) did not tell me that they could see straight up my dress the whole time. And they proceeded to take pictures anyway (so I'm not posting them)!!

And here are some sweet pictures of my beautiful goddaughter, Ava Marie Miller. Ava was born April 27, 2009 at 4:35 pm. She weighed 8 pounds 3 ounces and was 20.5 inches long. She is so beautiful!!

And last but not least, I leave you with lots of belly pics.

I know I need to post pictures of Carleigh's room, but this post is already so long that I think I will save something for next time. I should be posting after my appointment on Tuesday so I will try to do her room pictures then too.
Have a great week everyone!!
