We are a busy family!!

First of all, I'm so sorry for being the worst blogger ever. I have like a million pictures and video to share of Carleigh. I have gotten completely addicted to facebook and most of the time just post all my pictures on there. So, I have about 300 pictures already on facebook if you want to go look. It's just super simple to go add pictures straight from my handy iPhone. I promise I'll try to do better on here though.

I have decided that I have the most beautiful and happiest baby girl ever! She just melts my heart and I love being around her every second of the day. She is now about 3 1/2 months old. I can't believe that she has gotten so big so fast!! She smiles all the time and is just so happy (unless she's hungry, then you better watch out)! She even had her first real laugh this weekend. It was so cute. I keep trying to get her to do it again, but I guess she's only going to do it when she wants to. I took her to the doctor on Wednesday because she started coughing and was very congested. Dr. Dang looked in her ears and still can't see in her ear canal becuase it's still too small. She went ahead and prescribed an antibiotic for her and she's doing much better. She weighted 10 pounds 12 ounces at this visit. When I took her for her 2 month shots on August 20th, she was exactly 10 pounds (25th percentile) and was 22 inches long (25th percentile). She's still a pretty small baby, but she's getting bigger everyday. She's only breastfeeding now since we were finally able to get rid of the formula supplement when she was about 10 weeks old. I hated her being on formula because she spit up all the time and was really gassy. She hardly ever spits up when she's only breastfeeding. It's so much better!

Since I had to go back to work about 4 weeks ago, Carleigh is having a good time visiting with Nana, Angela, and Olivia throughout the week. I'm so lucky to have wonderful people who can help me out through the week so that I didn't have to send Carleigh to daycare. I did get a spot at Cornerstone, but I decided to turn it down since she was still so little and was a preemie. I'm so afraid that she'll catch every single illness that comes in to the daycare. So I love our little arrangment! It's so nice. Plus, I'm pretty sure the daycare would get annoyed with me calling every 5 minutes to check on Carleigh. I hate being at work all day. Don't get me wrong, work hasn't been as bad since I've been back, but I hate being away from Carleigh all day. It makes me sad to only get a few hours with her each night. I absolutely live for the weekends so I can be around her all day!

We have gone to Ruston the past two weekends to visit with Grady's family. Last weekend was our first overnight trip since Carleigh has been born. We loaded the car down with pretty much everything. It looked like we were going on a trip for a week (we were only planning on staying for one night)! I didn't bring enough diapers, so when we went back this weekend, I made sure to bring a whole bag full! You live and learn right?!?

I wanted to thank everyone who has been voting for Carleigh in the Geaux Baby photo contest. She has about 300 votes, but that still puts her at about 40 - 50th place. If you want to vote, you still can. I believe that voting ends on 9/30. The link is listed below. Please remember that all proceeds go to Sutton's Childrens Hospital. We would appreciate any help!

Once you get to P-babies, scroll through until you see Carleigh Perkins - 1389

These are some things that Carleigh loves:
  • smiling
  • taking a bath
  • talking (cooing)
  • watching football with Daddy
  • looking at her mobile
  • eating
Speaking of eating, I have to go feed Carleigh now, but I wanted to leave you with some pictures. I will be posting the videos soon, but I still have to figure that part out.

Here are a few pictures that Casey took when Carleigh was 5 weeks old:

Ok, apparently it's a lot easier to upload pictures now. I will get back on later and upload a bunch more. Have a great Sunday!
