The BIG day!!

Today was the BIG day! We had our very first appt for Baby Perkins! It was very exciting and very nerve wracking all at the same time. I was very, very nervous before the ultrasound. That was the first thing we had to do before seeing the doctor. The ultrasound tech walked in and asked "How many are we going to find in there?". Wow, luckily she just found one! We got to see our little peanut and it was beautiful! We saw the flicker of the heartbeat and we also heard the heartbeat!!!! That was so exciting!! It was amazing! Can I just say, that this was the most amazing moment of our lives! I have been waiting three weeks to see this baby and hear it's heartbeat. It just feels so real now. So, after having the ultrasound, we went in and talked to the doctor. He did a quick examination and said that everything looked perfect! The only thing is that I'm not as far along as I thought I was. It's not much difference, just 5 days. He said that I must ovulate later than normal, so that is the reason for the 5 day difference on the due date. The new due date is July 15th! I had originally thought that the due date would be July 10th (because that's what I calculated online). July 15th works for me! We can't wait!!

Here is a picture of the ultrasound that we got today!

I know it's kind of hard to see, but there it is! We are telling Grady's family tomorrow night and mine on Thursday! Stay tuned for that exciting news!!

Have a very Happy Thanksgiving!!!

I think Abby and Baby Perkins must be related because Abby's picture looked EXACTLY like that :-) Kidding, kidding. I know exactly what you mean though--it is so amazing to hear and see that. One of God's greatest blessings to us..it's such a miraculous thing! Have fun telling the fam!

Awe, wasn't it so surreal. It's such an amazing experience and I hope that you have an easy, fun pregnancy. And enjoy it as much as possible, becuase before you know it, you won't be able to reach your feet and then you will be holding "her". I voted a girl by the way! I'm so excited for ya'll. Good luck with all the news! Happy Thanksgiving!

I am so jealous! I had my first appointment at 7 weeks, but they didn't do the ultrasound. We're getting our first one on Thursday though, and I'm so incredibly excited and nervous for it. Congratulations! I hope you had a great time telling your family these past few days!
