Round Ligament Pain

So, if you've ever been pregnant or you are now, I hope that you don't have to experience round ligament pain. I woke up at about 5:30 AM Tuesday morning with the worst pain in my stomach. I've had cysts rupture before, so it felt sort of like that. I decided to take some tylenol and pray that this pain went away. I slowly got ready for work (of course after laying in the bed forever) in pain the whole time! I finally made it to work and the pain started to slowly go away. Of course, a few minutes later, it returned and this time it was worse. So I finally gave in and called the doctor's office. The nurse finally called me back around lunch and set me up with an appointment. I went in later that afternoon and the doctor checked me out and confirmed that I was having round ligament pain. He said it should only last a few days, but it might return around 18 - 20 weeks. He said it comes during times of rapid growth for the uterus. So, he gave me some medicine and sent me on my way. The pain did go away by the next day, but I'm not excited about it returning. The good news is that since I went in that day, I don't have to go this week, which means, I go back February 11th to find out what I'm having!!!! I'm so excited!!! I'll be 18 weeks when I go back and hopefully the baby will cooperate. So, in the meantime, I'm trying to be patient and of course counting down the days until I go back. Also, since I rented a doppler so I can listen to the baby's heartbeat. It's so neat to be able to hear that sweet baby's heartbeat anytime I want. Of course I've been listening to it EVERYDAY! It's very relaxing! I haven't figured how or if I can upload it on here, but if I do I'll post for you. I hope everyone has a great week!!

Thankfully, mine has just been a sharp pain that goes away relatively quickly. You're such a punk for finding out the sex before me! I go to the doctor on Thursday, but we're not getting to actually find out the sex until I'm 19.5 weeks, so on February 12th! I'm so jealous. I'll be chomping at the bit by then. Glad you're feeling better with the pain though. I can't imagine that pain lasting for any length of time like it did for you.
